In 2002, Ronaldo won the World Cup in a pair of chrome boots. So I built them an interactive web experience.
It's meant to feel like the boot itself, the Mercurial Vapor I: chrome, fast, a little unreal. Scroll and the chrome wordmark turns to vapor: a real-time fluid simulation that flows up.
Underneath, a meteor floats, orbited by chromium's 24 electrons. Keep scrolling on desktop and they fly off to spell R9. A riddle beside the boot says the meteor is hiding something. I won't spoil it, but gravity on that page runs at a true 9.81 m/s².
On the specs page there's a Speed Lab: an athlete in a breathing mask, on a treadmill with a grass pitch for a belt. Your scroll is the throttle, from 0 to 26 km/h.
A personal concept I designed and built for fun, not affiliated with Nike.
